When Abraham passed away, his sons, Isaac and Ishmael (the traditional ancestors of the Jewish and Arab peoples), came together to bury their father! This happened despite their earlier conflicts. The Sages teach us that Ishmael even performed Teshuvah (repentance/return) and rejoined the path of Abraham. This moment shows that unity and reconciliation, even between feuding family members, is possible. No matter how crazy or divided the world looks today, this story reminds us that the potential for coming together is always there. The Great Debate: Judaism & the Paranormal! 🤯 I just learned something fascinating about Jewish belief in the spiritual world. Even with sources in the Torah about angels, witches, and spirits, there are two major takes from the greatest Sages! On one side, Maimonides (Rambam) says we're in the physical realm, and the paranormal stories in the Torah are actually just dreams or visions, not literal reality. Angels don't appear as men, and witches aren't real. On the other side, Nahmanides (Ramban) completely disagrees! He says the spiritual world is real and can intersect with ours: angels can appear, witchcraft is real, and yes, you can see ghosts! 👻 It's amazing how this ancient debate shows up even today.
