For anyone who truly knew me, you know how badly I struggled with my skin. Having severe acne was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through. I can’t even count how many times I cried over my reflection, avoided mirrors, or made excuses not to go out because I just didn’t want to be seen. I felt so ugly, embarrassed, and ashamed of something I couldn’t control. My confidence was completely gone, and it truly affected how I lived my life every single day. Starting Accutane was scary. I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy journey. But I also knew I couldn’t keep living in the constant battle with my skin and how it made me feel about myself. The process was tough, but every step was worth it. Today, looking at my skin and how far I’ve come, I feel like a new person. My skin has cleared, but more importantly, I’ve gained back my confidence and happiness. If you’re someone struggling with acne right now, please know you are not alone.
