Being a balcony gardener is not an inexpensive hobby. It can be costly due to having to buy all of your soil and nutrients I have gotten into over the years, adding in natural nutrients through eggshells banana peels, iron nails, and so on and so forth everything I grow is also from seed with the exception of it coming from the plant itself like a slip I did grow these sweet potatoes from a slip that was a store purchased sweet potato everything else is from seed that is the most cost effective way to grow plants. 🌱 gardening feels very rewarding for me as a hobby. It’s something I grew up with my grandma doing and she had plants that were healing in nature by way of aloe vera for my burns she would put them on to heal and now I Garden for small supplement ingredients to do my best friend getting everything from the market or I do try my best to support local farmers markets. With all of the recalls going on with daily food items it just seems even more of a time to get into cooking at home, trying to grow your own herbs things that are fairly easy to grow. I’ve even gotten into more baking my sweet treats at home. Gardening in zone 8B has many fluctuations in weather, allowing me for a unusual growing opportunity for fruits and vegetables that I really take advantage of. I’m still able to yield jalapeños and my tomatoes actually just bloomed a few flowers that hopefully will pollinate into some tomatoes.
