i feel i have a lot yet very little to say this birthday. mixed emotions and scattered thoughts around everything i've experienced since the last. how far i've come and still have to go. if i even know where i'm going at all. every day that's been marked on my calendar for something, has been full of surprises i'm proud to say i embraced. as overwhelming as the changes in this past year of my life have been, i think above all i've been grateful to feel the joy, sorrow, or frustration that may have came from them. to sit in those pockets of humanness. to let the time be less significant. to let beautiful things become of that honest approach. if it's your birthday and you're reading this - i hope you're reminded that the pressure to be wiser as you get older doesn't mean neglecting how or forgetting to feel. • #poetry #spokenword #birthday #gettingolder #feeling
